Student dressed in Beekeeper Outfit

West Geauga in partnership with Youth Bee Works is offering a new entrepreneurial endeavor for students with the setup and maintenance of a beehive on the West Geauga campus. The Veale Youth Entrepreneurship Forum at Case Western Reserve University is funding the project, which provides students education and awareness of honey bees, the environment, and our food system. With the extraction, students will learn to market and sell honey from the hive, along with other beeswax and propolis products. Approximately 300 high school students attended an informational session to learn more. We are excited for the new opportunities this will afford our students.
