West Geauga Schools is pleased to partner with AVI Foodsystems to provide breakfast and lunch options for all students through the National School Lunch Program.

Student Lunch Accounts

All students have an account through Infinite Campus that acts as a debit system for cafeteria purchases. Parents/Guardians can add funds to the student's account electronically through their Infinite Campus Parent Portal or bring cash/check to the school building main office to apply to the account.

Parents/Guardians are able to view and monitor all student purchases and the account balance through their Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Restrictions on daily spending or purchases can be requested by emailing rashaun.mcdougal@westg.org.

For further information about charging meals and account balances, please read the district's policy on Meal Charging Guidelines and Negative Balances.

Components of a Meal

A full meal is comprised of five components in specific daily amount requirements. All five components listed below are offered daily at each cafeteria for students to select for a complete meal.

  • Grain

  • Meat/meat alternative

  • Fruit

  • Vegetable

  • Milk

Please be aware, as part of a meal, milk is the only beverage included. Other drink choices will be charged a fee. If your student selects multiple main entree items (example - a signature entree and a slice of pizza), your child will be charged for meal, plus the additional add-on item(s).

Students qualified for free or reduced meals are required to take at least three of the five required components, and one choice MUST be fruit or vegetable in order for the meal to be provided at a free or reduced cost. Click here for the flyer.

Meal Benefits

Families who are eligible for free or reduced meals based on the 2024-2025 income guidelines must complete a Meal Benefits application online through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. After logging in, the application can be found under "More", then select "Meal Benefits". Applications for the upcoming/current school year must be submitted after July 1.

If your household qualified in previous school years, the benefits do expire yearly on September 30. You must reapply each school year to continue benefits. Once approved, your student(s) will receive free or reduced meals and a waiver of academic fees.

The Ohio Department of Education announced that beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, students who qualify for reduced price meals will not be charged. Eligible students will receive their full meal at no-cost. Information on this program for the 2024-2025 school year will be published once available.

In order for a meal to be free or reduced, it MUST meet the requirements of the National School Lunch Program. Please review this flyer with your student so he/she is aware of what must taken in order for their meal to be free or reduced.

Students eligible for free or reduced meals will still be charged for items that are purchased a-la-carte (snacks, drinks, etc.) or if the lunch does not contain all of the required components for a meal.
