WGMS' eighth grade Power of the Pen team took second place out of fifteen middle schools competing at the recent Lake Erie District tournament hosted by University Schools. The writers, made up of Addie Oja, Tessa Leonard, Aurora Pavick, Laura Troychansky, Gabby Ohlsen, and Janna Winningham, participate in three rounds of narrative writing. Having to respond in forty minutes to prompts, such as the first round, "You are the only one left. What happened to the others?"- the team shined with creativity. Gabby and Janna placed in the top 12 writers overall! Congratulations and good luck at the regional tournament in March.
